Haŋ mitákuyepi. Cali emáčiyapi ye.
Hello relatives, my name is Cali! I am Sičháŋǧu Lakȟóta. Born in Ȟe sápa (Black Hills, SD). I was adopted at two days old and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I am an indigenous mother, author and “activist”. I have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and work as a board certified emergency nurse. I am the coordinating director for Native Women’s Wilderness and spend my spare time outdoors with my husband and daughter either hiking, camping or skiing.
I am using this space to share my story and speak on reclaiming identity and spreading awareness for Native issues.
