Haŋ mitákuyepi. Cali emáčiyapi ye.
Hello relatives, my name is Cali! I am Sičháŋǧu Lakȟóta. Born in Ȟe sápa (Black Hills, SD). I was adopted at two days old and grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and I am a board certified emergency nurse. I am also a writer, activist and advocate for diversity in the outdoor industry. I am an ambassador for Native Women’s Wilderness and spend my spare time outdoors with my husband either hiking, backpacking, rock climbing or skiing.
I am using this space to share my story as a reconnecting Native woman. I do not intend to speak for anyone but myself, nor am I representing Native peoples as a whole.
Philámayaye (Thank you) for following along
